Simplon in Jordan

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a Middle Eastern country of over 10 million inhabitants, is in the midst of a digital revolution in which it is moving away from seeing ICT as an isolated sector, and towards digitizing its entire economy.
Jordan is currently home to 8.7 million internet users, with more Jordanians connecting each year. Simplon is therefore convinced that providing trainings to Jordanian youth will equip them with the means necessary to participate in Jordan’s changing economy.

Presentation

In 2019, Simplon.co partnered with Orange Jordan to launch Orange Coding Academy in Amman, Jordan.
The Coding Academy project offers a free, 6-month training course in numerous programming languages for 50 young Jordanians aged 18-30 years old.
The project will promote “training for employment” by providing courses that directly respond to the rising need for specialists in the ICT sector, and will assist young Jordanians in identifying current and future job opportunities within the sector.
At the same time, Simplon.co joined forces with CHAMS, a French NGO which delivers web and mobile developer trainings.
Together, we aim to upskill both the refugees and the host community within and around the Zaatari refugee camp in Mafraq, Jordan.
